ARMor-Brushing Technology
In the automated production of endless tape, before finishing - for example galvanising or varnishing - the tape is usually first put through a cleaning process. During cleaning, both coarse particles as well as scales, oils and other impurities are removed.
The cleaning process plays an important role in overall production since it determines the quality of the coating which follows. As a core component of cleaning processes today, equipment with several rotating brushes is used. Such cleaning apparatus has several disadvantages:
- Complex in terms of mechanical and drive engineering
- Takes up considerable space
- Uneven wear of the brushes depending on the width of the material – low service life as a result
- High water and/or cleaning agent consumption as well as complicated treatment / disposal
- Insufficient control of cleaning process
The Rain Network has developed the ARMor system, an innovative cleaning system which is characterised by the following advantages:
- Utilisation of compact drive mechanisms and a new type of cleaning concept – space requirement
- consequently reduced by up to 75%
- Even wear of the brushes regardless of tape width – longer service life as a result
- Reduction of water and cleaning agent consumption through modified cleaning concept
